Sarah Frost

balzerARTprojects is very pleased to announce a collaboration with up-and-coming American artist Sarah Frost. Her highly conceptual, political and humorous work will come to balzerARTprojects in 2012, with a focus on the QWERTY pieces.

Her currently biggest project is her most recent work “Arsenal” showing at PPOW Gallery in New York City from April 14 until May 14.  At the moment, her work is also featured at show at Shearburn Gallery in St. Louis, Missouri for the next few weeks. Read the press release for the show.

Furthermore, check out this article in this month’s “Beacon”, St. Louis' online cultural journal: http://www.stlbeacon.org/arts-life/visual-arts/108698-profile-of-sarah-frost

The March/April issue of FRAME magazine, a prolific architectural/interior design magazine published in Amsterdam, will feature an article about Sarah Frost  on her “QWERTY” pieces. In May, Sarah will be a featured artist in JUXTAPOZ magazine, an alternative, edgy art magazine published in California.  Again, the QWERTY pieces will be specifically featured.

Next month, the NEW YORK TIMES Style Magazine will feature an interview with Sarah Frost.  In addition, there are various articles and blogs about QWERTY have appeared online recently, like this on “Phaidon” about the James Hotel in NY where she did a QWERTY commission for the lobby: http://www.phaidon.com/agenda/art/picture-galleries/2011/february/22/art-in-residence-the-james-new-york/?idx=21

Sarah’s work will also be featured in “Incognito” at the Santa Monica Museum of Art next in April, an invitation only fundraising exhibition. For a similar event at Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, called “Arts Desire”, Frost was asked to donate a piece as well.

Since January 2011, Sarah has been showing at a group show, called "So Much Depends" at Royale Projects, in Indian Wells, CA. The show is curated by Charlotte Eyerman.  It has been extended at least through April (see also www.artslant.com) and the gallery has the requested permission to keep Sarah’s work up.

Erin Parish

Erin Parish is working on several extensive projects at once at the moment.
Her solo show at Gruen Galleries in Chicago will open June 3rd (see also: www.gruengalleries.com).

The Westin Hotel in Abu Dhabi has acquired some giclée prints of one of Parish’s paintings for the hotel suites (In this rather new technique, images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclée printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction).  Furthermore, a hotel in Vienna (Austria) commissioned some of Parish’s images to be reproduced is getting reproduced for each of its 367 rooms.

Erin has also donated  one of her pieces to a benefit auction for the tragedy in Japan in Miami on March 26/27.
In the meantime, she is preparing a solo show with Winston Wachter Fine Art in Seattle, which opens in November 2011. (www.winston wachter.com)
